I’ve
just completed the full Plan and feel so energized! Are there any
immediate follow-up steps you recommend?
A parasite cleanse is recommended after the McCombs Plan has been completed.
Recommended dosage is 10 drops of Agrisept twice
a day in water or juice. Babies can take a black walnut extract or a homeopathic
formula.

I want to keep feeling this healthy! How soon can I do the
Plan again?
It is recommended to maintain optimum health and prevention that you
repeat the Plan once a year. We also have a maintenance schedule for
after the Plan on a daily basis which is: Candida Force – 4
once a day; Detox Essentials – 2 a day; and Flora Prime –5
once a day. The Plan can be repeated at any time.

We have had great success with the McCombs Plan. Is it safe for our children, too?
Certainly. For children ages 4-8, the dosages are adjusted as follows:
Candida Force: 5 capsules 2x/day
Detox Essentials: 4 capsules 2x/day
Flora Prime: 5 capsules 2x/day.
At age 9, kids start taking adult dosage of Candida Force, other dosages as above.
For children under four, work with your healthcare
practitioner.
Dr. McCombs has had some patients start at the age of 3 with good results.

Is it safe to simply continue using the Candida Force after completing the
Plan as a preventative measure?
Yes, you can’t really
take too much of it. However, do everything in moderation. The maintenance
dosage for Candida Force is 4 once a day.

What if a situation arises after completing the Plan that involves my taking antibiotics?
If a dose of antibiotics is taken after completing the Plan, the recommendation is to take the following while taking the antibiotics and continue for 3 weeks after:
Candida Force: 5 capsules 2x/day
Flora Prime: 5 capsules 2x/day
Detox Essentials: 4 capsules 2x/day
Eat according to the beginning 8 week food plan and do the
sweating.
If antibiotics are taken during the Plan after week 8, add 5 Candida Force 2x/day for 3 weeks and eat according to week 8.

What should I do if I start to experience allergies?
Take out any new foods from your diet for 3 days and then add them back one at a time every 3 days to see if they are causing a reaction

Do
you have a suggested “Maintenance Plan” to maintain the gains I’ve
made on the full Plan?
The
Maintenance Plan is ongoing and is to be followed right after completing the 16-week Plan.
Candida Force: 4 capsules once a day, at least 20 minutes away from food and Flora Prime. One bottle will last you two months on this
Plan.
Detox Essentials: 2 capsules per day, anytime during the day. One bottle will last you two months on this
Plan.
Flora Prime: 5 capsules a day, 20-30 minutes before meals. One bottle will last you twenty days on this
Plan.

Do you have any suggestions as to how to address constipation if that should return?
Normal bowel movements should occur 3-4 times per day. If yours are slower,
meaning less than 2 times per day, then you are placing
additional stress on your body. To address this, try an
herbal colon cleanse, or liquid concentrated
trace minerals
in amounts of 40-80 drops a day. See what dosage is effective
for you. Adding Psyllium Husks to your diet while on the Plan can be effective for some people.

I
completed the Plan a couple of months ago, and I’m wondering if you have a “Tune-Up Plan”?
Yes, we do. If you have completed
the full Plan and have not been using the optional Maintenance Plan,
the following works great as a “tune-up”:
Candida Force: 4 capsules once a day, at least 20 minutes away from food and
Flora Prime - Weeks 1-4
Detox Essentials: 2 capsules per day, anytime during the day - Weeks 1-8
Flora Prime: 5 capsules a day, 20-30 minutes before meals - Weeks 5-8
(This translates to: 2 bottles Candida Force, 4 bottles Detox Essentials, 3.5 bottles Flora Prime.)

What is the best way to reintroduce sugar (or sugar substitutes) into my diet after completing the Plan?
You'll have to see how your
body does with natural sugars such as honey, molasses, etc. After completing
the Plan, people are much
more aware of noticing negative changes in their overall
health when adding in
sugars—we get hundreds of e-mails sharing this experience.
The problem with sugar substitutes
that while refined sugar (sucrose) may be more toxic, in many ways,
sugar is sugar when it comes to how the body responds (with the production
of Insulin). Excess Insulin promotes inflammation and blood sugar imbalances.
All common sugar substitutes, including Stevia, in a sense, are “good” enough to fool the body into reacting to the “presence”of
sugar, which can again initiate the production of Insulin.
Also, people tend to eat more
sugar when they are defining it as “natural,” thinking
that there is no negative effect or downside. Sparingly
is probably the best way to use additional sugars of any
kind, if at all, when adding them back into
your diet. Blackstrap molasses, agave nectar, and honey
do have beneficial properties, but overdoing it can have
negative results. You will need
to see how your body does—and having completed the Plan, you’ll
probably be more aware of your body’s responses.
Acesulsame-K, otherwise known
as acesulfame-K, or Ace-K, has never been shown to be safe for human
consumption. It is suspected of being carcinogenic. It’s probably
best to avoid it.

I want to release more weight after completing the Plan. Can I stay with the eight-week Maintenance Plan until my excess weight is gone?
You can use the Maintenance Plan indefinitely. Some people find that now they feel better they want to release even more enough unwanted weight. Additional unwanted weight generally occurs when patients tend to be quite toxic and the detoxification process progresses more slowly.
As health continues to be restored (which is the foundational purpose of the Plan), the body generally adjusts and the excess weight is released down the road. It can be challenging to keep from fretting about weight, and you are encouraged to put your focus on rebuilding your health as your primary goal.
Make exercise an important part of any weight loss protocol.

Is
it true that Candida can never be ‘cured,’only controlled?
We have had great success with the Plan over the past 15 years. There are situations that can create a reoccurrence of Candida (see below).

How might Candida reoccur after the Plan?
At the McCombs Center, the two main ways that we find that Candida will occur or re-occur are as a result of:
1) Direct antibiotic use or
2) Indirect antibiotic consumption through foods.
If you eliminate Candida and then have antibiotics directly or indirectly, the Candida can re-occur. Once people complete the LifeForce Plan, I have a protocol for how to supplement if taking antibiotics to help minimize adverse effects. Re-doing the diet periodically or following the Maintenance Plan can help address other exposure.

Does my diet need to be restricted after completing the Plan if I am to stay healthy?
Diet needs to be considered in terms of foods that support health and foods that don't support health. If you look at your approach to eating as being restricted or not restricted, then I would recommend updating that approach.
It is a fact that there are
many commonly eaten foods that do nothing to contribute to greater health
(at best) or amplify poor health. A question you may want to ask yourself
is, “Are the foods I am eating giving me the experience of healthy
living I want?”

Do you have any simple grocery shopping tips for post-Plan living?
There is an approach to shopping
that encourages buying foods in a grocery store by “shopping around the edges.” This
is where you'll tend to find most fresh and unprocessed
foods. The middle of the store usually contains the processed
foods that the body doesn't
need and has difficulty with. Click here for our recommended Shopping List for people doing the Plan. It will assist you in remembering all the choices you have available when it comes to food.
